PROPRIETARY E C N L Heat Treatments
- Annealing at 720°C for 6 - 8h, slow furnace cooling. Subsequent annealing at 600 - 630°C, 10 - 12h, slow furnace cooling. Stress relieving at appr. 600°C for 1 - 2h, slow cooling. Carburizing at 860 - 880°C, in mild powder, at 900 - 920°C, in salt bath. Intermediate annealing at 600 - 620°C for appr. 2h, slow furnace cooling, bath carburizing 5 - 6h in the pearlitic zone. Hardening at 780 - 810°C, quenching in oil or hot bath at appr. 250°C, or 810 - 830°C, quenching in air only. Tempering as required.
