NBR 1035 Heat Treatments
- Heat treatment procedure above critical temperature Ac1: 1. Uniformal heating to not more than 50 °C above the Ac1; 2. Cooling in protecting atmosphere to temperature not less then 50 °C below the Ac1.
- Austenitizing at 870 ± 10°C;
Core hardenability shall be achieved by direct quenching in oil. Core shall be heated to 55 ± 15°C, with time equivalent to 2 min/mm of diameter at the austenitizing temperature. The length of the specimen shall be at least 3 times its diameter
