ASTM A 564 S15500 Heat Treatments
- Solution treated at 1040 ± 15°C (1900 ± 25°F), cooled as required to below 32°C (90°F).
Hardening:
Time refers to minimum time material is at temperature and may be extended to obtain required ductility properties.
Unless otherwise noted, temperatures shown are suggested temperatures and may be varied to obtain required tensile properties.
Intermediate temperatures must meet the ductility requirements of the next highest suggested hardening or aging temperature, or both.
When air cooling is specified, gases other than air may be used.
H900: Heated at 480°C (900°F), held for 1h, cooled in air.
H925: Heated at 495°C (925°F), held for 4h, cooled in air.
H1025: Heated at 550°C (1025°F), held for 4h, cooled in air.
H1075: Heated at 580°C (1075°F), held for 4h, cooled in air.
H1100: Heated at 595°C (1100°F), held for 4h, cooled in air.
H1150: Heated at 620°C (1150°F), held for 4h, cooled in air.
H1150M: Heated at 760°C (1400°F), held for 2h, cooled in air plus heated at 620°C (1150°F) for 4h, cooled in air.
