ASTM A 541 Class 11C Heat Treatments
- After complete austenitization, the forgings shall be quenched in a suitable liquid medium by spraying or immersion. Quenching shall be followed by tempering at a subcritical temperature and holding at this temperature for a minimum time of 0.5 h/25 mm of maximum section thickness. Minimum tempering temperatures shall be 595°C (1100°F).
