ASTM A 600 T11342 Heat Treatments
- Pre-heat at 732 - 843°C (1350 - 1550°F) then austenitize at either 1177°C (2150°F) in a salt bath or 1188°C (2170°F) in a controlled atmosphere furnace. Oil quench or quench in molten salts and air cool. When a salt quench is employed, its temperature shall be 538 - 579°C (1000 - 1075°F). Temper three times at 538°C (1000°F) for 2 hours each
