ASTM A 982 Grade C Heat Treatments
- Class 1:
Austenitized: 995 - 1025°C (1825 - 1875°F),
Quenched: air or liquid,
Single tempered: 565°C (1050°F) min,
Double tempered: 550°C (1025°F) min,
Stress relieved: 540°C (1000°F) min.
Class 2 :
Austenitized: 940 - 1025°C (1725 - 1875°F),
Quenched: air or liquid,
Single tempered: 565°C (1050°F) min,
Double tempered: 550°C (1025°F) min,
Stress relieved: 540°C (1000°F) min.
Heat treating temperatures shall be controlled in the range of ±14°C (±25°F).
