- Annealing: heating 1500 to 1600°F, furnace cool 25 to 50°F per hour to 1100°F; Austenitizing temperature: 1750 to 1850°F, medium for quenching: oil, air or polymer; Recommended subcritical anneal: 1200 to 1450°F air cool;
