PROPRIETARY DuyLos 2379 Heat Treatments

  • Normally supplied in the annealed condition with hardness values lower than 250 HB which guarantees excellent machinability. Soft annealing: at 850°C, rate of increase max 50°C/h, soaking time minimum 120 min from when the temperature settles, cooling slowly in furnace at max 25°/h to 600°C, then cooling at room temperature. Stress relieving at 650°C, rate of increase max 100°C/h, soaking time minimum 120 min from when the temperature settles, cooling slow in the furnace to 200°C, then cooling at room temperature. Hardening: recommended temperature I 1010 ÷ 1050°C, rate of increase 150°C/h, soaking time 15-30 minutes after stable temperature achieved, cooling at 350°C in salt bath, alternatively in oil, fully hardened hardness 62 ÷ 64 HRc. “Normal” hardening cycle where nitriding of the piece is not required. Tempering temperature depending on the mechanical characteristics required and on the austenitising temperature, soaking time 60 min every 25 mm of thickness in cooling at room temperature, cooling In air.
