PROPRIETARY AK STEEL 410 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: heat uniformly to 816-900°C (1500-1650°F), slow cool to 593°C (1100°F) in furnace, air cool.
Process annealing: heat to 732-788°C (1350-1450°F), air cool.
Preheat is not necessary.
Hardening: heat to 927-1010°C (1700-1850°F), air cool or oil quench.
Sub-zero treatment is not necessary.
Stress relieving: heat at 149-427°C (300-800°F) for 1-2 hours, air cool.
Tempering: heat to 593-760°C (1100-1400°F) for 1-4h, air cool.
