PROPRIETARY UK19 Heat Treatments

  • Stress relieving: after rough-machining, heat to 650°C-675°C, hold at temperature for at least 2 hours, and consequently cool slowly in furnace to 500°C, then cool in stationary air; Hardening: preheat at 650°C-675°C austenization at 940°C-980°C, air or oil cooling or thermal bath at 500°C-550°C then in air. When the tool has reached the temperature of 50°C-80°C start tempering immediately; Tempering: slow heat to the required temperature for the desired hardness shown in the following chart. Hold at temperature for a minimum of 2 hours after reaching the desired temperature. Make at least 2 temperings.
