PROPRIETARY THYRAPID 3202 Heat Treatments
- Soft annealing at 820 - 860°C, furnace cooling. Stress-relief annealing at 630 - 650°C, furnace cooling. 1st pre-heating up to approx. 400°C in an air-circulating furnace. 2nd pre-heating at 850°C and 3rd pre-heating at 850°C and 1050°C. Hardening at 1190 - 1240°C. For cold-forming tools of a complex geometry, a hardening temperature at the lower end of the quoted range is recommended. The stated hardening temperatures apply to saltbath hardening only. For vacuum hardening, we suggest a reduction of 10 to 30 °C. Quenching in saltbath at 550°C, oil or air. Tempering at least three times at 540 - 580°C.
