KS STS 420J1 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: 800 - 900°C, slow cooling or approximately 750°C, air cooling; Quenching: 920 - 980°C, oil quenching; Tempering: 600 - 750°C, rapid cooling.
- Annealing at approximately 750°C, air cooling or 800-900°C, slow cooling.
Annealing may be replaced by quenching and tempering to obtain the specified mechanical properties.
