ISO 17SMn20 Heat Treatments
- Carburizing temperature: 880°C - 980°C (The carburizing temperature will depend on the chemical composition of the steel, the mass of the product, and the carburizing medium. If the steels are direct hardened, in general a temperature of 950°C is not exceeded. For special procedures, for example under vacuum, higher temperatures, for example 1020 to 1050°C, are not unusual); Direct and simple hardening temperature: 830°C - 870°C; Core hardening temperature 880°C - 920°C and case hardening temperature 780°C-820°C; The kind of quenching agent depends for example on the shape of the products, the cooling conditions and the quantity of furnace filling; Tempering: 150°C to 200°C, 1h minimum.
