ISO 10S20 Heat Treatments
- Carburizing: 880-980°C. The carburizing temperature will depend on the chemical composition of the steel, the mass of the product, and the carburizing medium. If the steels are direct hardened, in general a temperature of 950°C is not exceeded. For special procedures, for example under vacuum, higher temperatures, for example 1020°C to 1050°C, are not unusual;
Direct and simple hardening: 830-870°C;
Double hardening: Core-hardening: 880-920°C and case-hardening: 780-820°C;
Quenching agent: water, oil, emulsion (depends, for example, on the shape of the products, the cooling conditions and the quantity of furnace filling);
Tempering: 150-200°C (1h minimum). - Carburizing temperature: 880°C - 980°C (The carburizing temperature will depend on the chemical composition of the steel, the mass of the product, and the carburizing medium.
