STAS 18 CrNi 20 S Heat Treatments
- Hardening in the range 840-870°C, quenching in oil, re-heating in the range 800-830°C, quenching in oil; Tempering in the range 170-210°C, cooling in oil or air.
Temperature of austenitization 840°C.
Hot plastic deformation:
- Forging and hot rolling: 1180-800°C
- Die forging: 1150-900°C.
Annealing in the range 650-700°C, furnace cooling; Cementation in the range 900-950°C, oil cooling or batch furnace cooling; Hardening (I) in the range 840-870°C, oil cooling; Intermediate cooling in the range 630-650°C; furnace cooling; Hardening (II) in the range 800-830°C, oil cooling; Tempering in the range 170-210°C, air or oil cooling.
