ASTM A 437 Grade B4D Heat Treatments
- Heated to a temperature range of 927 to 954°C (1700 to 1750°F) and oil quenched. The material shall then be uniformly reheated or tempered at a temperature of 649°C (1200°F) minimum, followed by air or furnace cooling to room temperature.
Stress relieving: The minimum stress relieving temperature shall be 55°C (100°F) below the minimum tempering temperature.
