- Post-weld heat treat temperature range (stress relieving): 715 - 745°C (1325 - 1375°F); Normalizing
9 CR steel is an air-hardenable steel, at times retaining austenite down to near atmospheric temperature. Good practice is to allow the steel to cool to 65.6 °C (150°F) or lower before subjecting the steel to a tempering treatment or post-weld heat treatment; Tempering temperature 715 - 745°C (1325 - 1375°F)
