ASME SA-420 Grade WPL9 Heat Treatments
- All fittings shall be furnished in the normalized, normalized and tempered, annealed, or quenched and tempered condition. All welding shall be completed prior to the austenitizing heat treatment.
Post weld heat treatment: metal temperature of 550 - 585°C (1025 - 1085°F), 1h/ 25 mm, minimum holding time 2h .
For thickness 51 mm and over: the cooling rate shall not be less than 150°C (300°F) per hour down to a temperature of 315°C (600°F).
