GOST 50 Heat Treatments

  • Normalizing: 835-865°C, Hardening: 810-840°C in water; 820-850°C in oil; Tempered: 540-680°C, air cooled
  • The heating temperature at 850 +/- 10°C, (holding time after reaching the quenching temperature 20 min.), cooling in oil at 65 +/- 10°C; Normalization: heating temperature at 850 +/- 15°C and cooling in air 30 min.; Hardening at 830°C and cooling in the water; Tempering at 600°C +/- 50°C and cooling in air 1h; Quenching at 810 - 850°C, 30 min., cooling in oil or water; Annealing at 550 - 600°C, 1h and cooling in air.
