GOST 40 Heat Treatments
- Normalization: heating temperature at 870 +/- 15°C and cooling in air 30 min.; Hardening at 840°C and cooling in the water; Tempering at 600°C +/- 50°C and cooling in air 1h; Quenching at 830 - 870°C, 30 min., cooling in water or oil; Annealing at 550 - 600°C, 1h and cooling in air.
- Normalizing: 850-880°C, Hardening: 830-860°C in water; 840-870°C in oil; Tempered: 540-680°C, air cooled
