AFNOR NF 20 MB 5 Heat Treatments
- Heated in the range at 885-915°C, cooled in oil or water for d ≤ 16mm and in water for d > 16mm and:
Tempered I at 500-600°C
Tempered II at 450-550°C
Jominy test at 900 ± 5°C - Cementation process at 880 to 930°C
Hardening (core) at 850 to 880°C, oil quenching
Hardening (surface) at 810 to 840°C, oil quenching
Tempering at 150 to 200°C.
Tempering for Jominy test at 880 ± 5°C
