DIN X 5 CrNiMo 17 13 3 Heat Treatments


  • Recrystallization or solution heat treated at 1020 - 1100°C, air or water cooling. If heat treatment is used in processing the tubes, the lower end of the temperature range should be aimed for. If the subsequent hot working temperature does not fall below 850°C, or if the product has been cold worked, the temperature for any renewed solution heat treatment may drop by -253,15°C (20°K) below the lower limit given here.
    Hot working at 1150°C to 750°C, air cooling. Sufficiently rapid cooling required.
  • Solution annealing during fabrication and further processing at 1020 - 1100°C, quenching in water or sufficiently rapid air cooling. Hot working at 1150 - 750°C, air cooling. If hot working has been carried out at a temperature of at least 850°C or if the product has been cold worked, the temperature of renewed solution annealing may be 20°C less than the lower limit for solution annealing.
