WL 1.8544 Heat Treatments


  • Annealed at 650 to 700°C; Hardened at 900 to 940°C oil or water tempered at 570 to 650°C;
  • The material is to relax before nitriding at least 550°C. The surface needs to be nitrated grease and decarburization. Usually is nitrided at 500°C to 520°C. The nitriding time depends on the desired layer depth.
