DIN 1.6311 Heat Treatments
- Quenching and tempering: Hardened at 870-940°C, after reaching the temperature in the entire cross-section. Cooled in air, quenched in oil or water according to the thickness.
Tempered at 610-690°C, held for at least 30 min, cooled in still air or in furnace.
Stress relieving: Heated at 580-620°C, holding time for:
t ≤ 15 mm ( ≥ 15 min.)
15 < t ≤ 30 mm ( ≥ 30 min.)
30 < t ≤ 350 mm ( ≥ 60 min.)
t > 350 mm (approx. 120 min) - Operation of hardening - 870-940°C; Hot working 1100-850°C; Soft annealing, 580-620°C; Stress relieving; Temper 610-690°C.
