DIN 1.4876 Heat Treatments


  • Annealed at 900-980°C, recommended holding time:
    for t < 10 mm, 5 to 15 min
    for 10 ≤ t < 25 mm, 15 to 30 min
    for 25 ≤ t < 50 mm, 1 to 1.5 h
    for 50 ≤ t < 100 mm, 1.5 to 2.5 h
    for 100 ≤ t < 250 mm, 2.5 to 4.5 h
    Cooled in water or air
    Solution annealed at 1100-1150°C, recommended holding time:
    for t < 10 mm, 5 to 20 min
    for 10 ≤ t < 25 mm, 30 to 60 min
    for 25 ≤ t < 50 mm, 1 to 2 h
    for 50 ≤ t < 100 mm, 2 to 3 h
    for 100 ≤ t < 250 mm, 3 to 5 h
    Cooled in water or air
    An increase in the soft annealing temperature up to 1050°C and an increase in the solution annealing temperature up to 1200°C and different holding times are permitted.
  • Recrystallization annealing: Heated at 900-980°C
    Solution annealing: Heated at 1100-1150°C
