DIN 1.1118 Heat Treatments
- (+QT1) Normalizing or austenitizing from 880 to 950ºC and colling in liquid; tempering from 520 to 570ºC; (+QT2) Normalizing or austenitizing from 880 to 950ºC and colling in liquid; tempering from 600 to 650ºC; (+QT3) Normalizing or austenitizing from 880 to 950ºC and colling in liquid; tempering from 650 to 680ºC.
- Quenching and tempering:
Strength level I: Austenitized at 880-950°C, quenched in fluid, tempered at 650-680°C
Strength level II: Austenitized at 880-950°C, quenched in fluid, tempered at 600-650°C
Strength level III: Austenitized at 880-950°C, quenched in fluid, tempered at 520-570°C
The temperature for the stress relief heat treatment should be at least 20°C, but at most 50°C below the applied tempering temperature of the casting
