CSN 15 340 Heat Treatments


  • Forging at 1100 to 800°C and cooling slowly;
    Normalizing at 880 to 920°C, cooling in air;
    Hardening at 920 to 940°C, cooling in warm water or at 930 to 950°C and for parts to about 30 mm diameter cooling in oil;
    Tempering at 600 to 680°C and cooling in water or in oil;
    Soft annealing at 700 to 740°C, cooling in furnace;
    Nitriding about 500°C
