CSN 13 141 Heat Treatments


  • Thermoforming at 1150 to 850°C, cooling slowly.
    Normalizing at 850 to 880°C, cooling in air.
    Soft annealing at 650 to 700°C, slowly cooling in the furnace.
    Hardening at 820 to 850°C (thicker pieces), cooling in the water and at 830 to 860°C thinner pieces (20 mm), cooling in the oil.
    Tempering at 550 to 690°C, cooling in water or at 550 to 690°C cooling in oil or at 540 to 680°C (for thinner pieces - 25mm), cooling in air.
