B.S. S 532 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment at a temperature within the range 1000°C to 1075°C, than cooling in air.
Final heat treatment:
1) Precipitation treatment: 1st stage. Heat at a temperature of 750 ± 10°C for 2 hours to 4 hours and cool in air.
2) Precipitation treatment: 2nd stage. Cool to a temperature of 0 - 5°C and hold for not less than 2 hours.
3) Precipitation treatment: final stage. Heat at a temperature of 540 +/- 10°C for 1/2 hour to 1 hour and cool in air.
