B.S. 321S51 (1105) Heat Treatments
- Tubes shall be supplied in one of the following conditions:
(a) the solution treated condition 1071 to 1140°C (or lower 1105°C); or
(b) the hot finished condition for tubes which have been heated and extruded at a temperature within the solution treatment temperature range 1071 to 1140°C (or lower 1105°C); and cooled rapidly, unless solution treatment has been specified by the purchaser.
This solution treatment gives lower proof stress values with higher stress rupture values than 321S51 (1010).
Treatment time for intergranular corrosion test: 30 min - Solution treated: 1070 - 1140 °C
