SAE Ti-5Al-2.5V-4Sn-1Co-0.8Fe Heat Treatments
- Bars, forgings, and flash-welded rings shall be solution heat treated by heating in a suitable atmosphere within the range of 28 to 97°C (50 to 175°F) below the beta transus, holding at the selected temperature for 1 to 2 hours, and quenching in agitated water; and aged by heating to a temperature within the range 566 to 621°C (1050 to 1150°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 8°C (± 15°F) for 4 to 8 hours, and cooling in air.
