JIS MC-AZ91E Heat Treatments
- T4:
Solution heat treatment:
412 ± 6°C (To prevent coarsening of crystal grains, treatment conditions may be divided into three stages: treatment at 412 ± 6°C for 6 h, then at 352 ± 6°C for 2 h, and at 412 ± 6°C for 10 h) for 16-24 h
T5:
Age hardening:
168 ± 6°C for 16 h
216 ± 6°C for 4 h
T6:
Solution heat treatment:
412 ± 6°C (To prevent coarsening of crystal grains, treatment conditions may be divided into three stages: treatment at 412 ± 6°C for 6 h, then at 352 ± 6°C for 2 h, and at 412 ± 6°C for 10 h) (For the solution heat treatment, castings are placed in the heat treatment furnace maintained at 260°C, and the temperature is increased over 2 h or more until the solution treatment temperature is reached) for 16-24 h
Age hardening:
168 ± 6°C for 16 h
216°C ± 6°C for 5-6 h
