SAE Ti-5Al-1Fe Heat Treatments

  • Annealing:
    When batch furnace is used, product shall be annealed by heating to a temperature between 600 to 750°C (1112 to 1382°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for a time commensurate with the thickness, and cooled;
    When continuous annealing is used, process parameters (e.g., furnace temperature set points, heat input, travel rate, etc.) for continuous heat treating lines shall be established by the material producer and validated by testing to the tensile properties requirements
