ASTM F3213 R30075 Heat Treatments
- Thermal Processing: When required, Condition SR components shall be stress relieved or solution annealed as agreed upon by the component supplier and purchaser. Stress relief is optional for all other Conditions. Condition ANN components shall be solution annealed in accordance with SAE AMS 2774 for SAE AMS 5894 material or as under inert atmosphere in the range of 1200°C to 1230°C; hold at the selected temperature within +/- 15°C for 120 +/- 15 min, followed by rapid inert gas cool at a minimum cooling rate of 220°C per minute to 540°C and 80°C per minute from 540°C to ambient. For Condition OPT components, all thermal post-processing shall be optional.
Hot Isostatic Pressing: Required for Condition HIP components and optional for all other conditions. Process components under inert atmosphere at not less than 100 MPa within the range of 1185°C to 1220°C; hold at the selected temperature within +/- 15°C for 240 +/- 60 min and cool under inert atmosphere to below 425°C, or to parameters as agreed upon between the component supplier and purchaser.
