VdTÜV NiCr21Mo Heat Treatments
- Soft annealed at 920°C to 980°C (temperature of the annealing material), cooled in water or in air. For adequate annealing, an annealing time of around 2 minutes per mm of wall thickness (heat treatment thickness) is required. If possible, a sulfur-free furnace atmosphere should be set. If freedom from sulfur is not guaranteed, oxidizing annealing must be carried out. Swinging between oxidizing and reducing conditions must be avoided at all costs.
- Soft annealing at 920 - 1030°C, quenching in water or cooling in air. Holding period for sheets and strips:
t ≤ 10 mm, ≤ 30 min
10 < t ≤ 20 mm, > 30 ≤ 50 min
t > 20 mm, > 50 ≤ 80 min.
Solution annealing at 1020 - 1130°C, cooling in air, for sheets and strips with t ≤ 4 mm.
