Generic Ti-6Al-4V Heat Treatments
- HIP: at 900°C for 2 h under an argon atmosphere at a pressure of 100 MPa, followed by furnace cooling.
As built and HIP I: SLM process condition: energy density: 75 J/mm3
As built and HIP II: SLM process condition: energy density: 112 J/mm3 - The HIP process was carried out at 920°C and 100 MPa for 2 hours, and after the HIP process, the samples and the gear were cooled at a rate of 10°C/min to room temperature. The heat treatment was carried out at 600°C for 1, 3, and 24 hours. Later, the samples and the gear were cooled at a rate of 10°C/min to room temperature. After completion of the heat treatment, the samples and the gear were gas nitrided.
