ASTM B 862 Grade R50550 Heat Treatments
- Welded pipe shall be made from annealed flat-rolled products by a welding process. Further, may be reduced by cold working or hot working. Cold reduced pipe shall be annealed after cold working at a temperature of not less than 538°C (1000°F). Hot worked pipe finished above 760°C (1400°F) need not be further heat treated.
Stress relief heat treatment shall consist of holding the pipe at a minimum temperature of 593°C (1100°F) for not less than 0.5 h/25.4 mm of wall thickness.
