Generic Ti-24.5Al-17Nb Heat Treatments
- HIP/Forging temperature: 1093°C (2000°F)
Heated at 1120-1150°C (2050-2100°F) + heated at 27°C (50°F) for 1h, air cooled + heated at 815°C (1500°F) for 1h, air cooled.
Heat treatments of thermo-mechanically processed alloy:
Heat treatment 1 (DA): Forged at 1175°C (2150°F), air cooled. Heat treated at 650°C (1200°F), 8h, air cooled.
Heat treatment 2 (STA): Forged at 1175°C (2150°F), air cooled. Heat treated at 1050°C (1925°F), 1h, air cooled + heated at 650°C (1200°F), 8h, air cooled.
Heat treatment 3 (AF - as forged): Forged at 1175°C (2150°F), salt quenched from press to 815°C (1500°F) and held for 30 minutes.
Heat treatment 4 (DA): Forged at 1175°C (2150°F), salt quenched from press to 815°C (1500°F) and held for 30 minutes. Heat treated at 650°C (1200°F), 8h, air cooled.
