PROPRIETARY CarTech 25Ni-20Cr-6Mo Stainless Heat Treatments
- Annealing:
Cannot be hardened by heat treatment. It may be annealed at 1095-1175ºC (2000-2150ºF), with a range for bar and wire in ASTM B 649-02 of 1100-1150ºC (2010-2100ºF). A water quench is suggested (or rapid air cool for larger sections). Prolonged exposure to about 510-870ºC (950-1600ºF) can cause formation of deleterious phases/carbides, which can reduce corrosion resistance. Excessive time at the annealing temperature can cause increased oxidation.
