SAE Alloy 617 Heat Treatments
- Sheet and strip shall be annealed in a suitable atmosphere, by heating in the range 1135 to 1191°C (2075 to 2175°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
- Annealed: 1135 - 1204°C (2075 - 2200°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 25°F (± 14°C) for a time commensurate with cross-sectional thickness, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
