SAE 6061B Heat Treatments
- Heat Treatment Parameters 25 mm x 25 mm maximum section thickness: Solution Treatment: 535°C ± 5°C (995°F ± 9°F) for 1 hour minimum; Quench: 25% Polyglycol 23°C ± 5°C (73°F ± 9°F), Transfer Time 7 seconds maximum; T6P/T62P Artificial Aging at 175°C ± 5°C (347°F ± 9°F) for 2 hours followed by air cool.
