PROPRIETARY ATI Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn Heat Treatments
- The various recommended treatments for bars and forgings are:
1. Anneal: 704 - 760°C (1300 - 1400°F) - 2 to 4 hours - Air Cool
2. Stress Relief Anneal: 538 - 649°C (1000 - 1200°F) - 1 to 4 hours - Air or Furnace Cool
3. Solution Heat Treatment: 843 - 899°C (1550 - 1650°F) 1 hour - Water Quench
4. Aging Treatment: 510 - 593°C (950 - 1100°F) - 4 to 12 hours - Air Cool (The strength decreases, and ductility and toughness increase with increasing aging temperature)
