DIN 2.4856 Heat Treatments
- Annealed at 871°C to 1100°C, cooled in water. For sufficient annealing, the following holding time applies:
Strips: t ≤ 7 mm, holding time is 1 to 15 minutes, cooling in air or water
Sheets: t ≤ 80 mm, holding time is 5 to 90 minutes, cooling in air or water
Forgings, rods, sections: t ≤ 250 mm, holding time is 45 to 240 minutes, cooling in air or water
Tubes: t ≤ 6.5 mm, holding time is 5 to 30 minutes, cooling in water - Annealing: 950-1000°C, air or water cooling. Cooling to be sufficiently rapid. If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified is usually preferred or even exceeded.
