B.S. HR 5 Heat Treatments
- Delivery condition = use condition: Bars and extruded sections for machining (Annealed) treated at 1000 °C <= θ <= 1100 °C / AC, Extruded sections for subsequent forming (Softened) treated at θ >= 1050 °C / WQ, Billets and bars for forging (Hot or cold worked and subsequently machined or ground), Forgings (Annealed) treated at 1000 °C <= θ <= 1100 °C / AC.
- Softening: It shall be heated uniformly at a minimum temperature of 1050°C followed by quenching in water.
Annealing: It shall be heated uniformly at a temperature within the range 1000°C to 1100°C followed by cooling in air.
