MIL R30001 Heat Treatments
- Stress relieved at 1650°+/- 25°F (900°+/-14°C) for 1 hour per inch of cross section with 2 hours minimum total time at temperature. Castings shall be cooled in the furnace at 250°F (139°C) per hour maximum to 500°F (260°C). Below 500°F (260°C) the castings may be cooled in still air to ambient temperature. Cooling may be done in steps provided the specified cooling rate is maintained.
