B.S. L 158 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment: The solution treatment shall consist of heating at a temperature of 505 +/- 5°C for tot more than 30 min. and quenching in water at a temperature not exceeding 40°C; Ageing at room temperature: The duration of ageing at room temperature shall be not less than 5 days nor more than 10 days; Artificial ageing: Artificial ageing by the purchaser or by the manufacturer to demonstrate convertibility shall consist of heating at a temperature of 175 +/- 5 °C for 9h to 12h.
