B.S. BS L 165 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment: Shall consist of heating at a temperature of 505 +/- 5°C for not more than 45 min. in salt or 60 min. in air, followed by quenching in water at a temperature not exceeding 40°C; Artificial ageing: Shall consist of heating at a temperature of 175 +/- 5° C for 7h to 12h; Ageing at room temperature: The duration of ageing at room temperature shall be not less than 5 days nor more than 10 days.
