SAE 2198 Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treatment temperature at 500 to 510°C (930 to 950°F).
- Annealing: Soak for 2 to 3 hours at 404°C (760°F); cool at rate of 28°C (50°F) per hour or slower to 260°C (500°F ); further cooling rate optional.
Solution heat treating temperature (for sheet): 500-510°C (930- 950°F) , followed by an air cool and quenched.
