SAE 2013 Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treatment: Heat to 545°C ± 6°C (1013°F ± 10°F), hold at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cool rapidly.
Artificial aging heat treatment: Heat to 190°C ± 6°C (374°F ± 10°F), hold at heat for a time of 7 to 9 hours, and air cool. - Solution Heat Treatment: Heat to 545°C ± 6°C (1013°F ± 10°F), hold at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cool rapidly.
