SAE 5410 Heat Treatments
- Solution treated (Type B): Heat to 1121 ± 14°C (2050 ± 25°F) in vacuum or suitable protective atmosphere, hold at heat for 2 hours ± 15 minutes, cool to 843 ± 14°C (1550 ± 25°F), within 15 minutes, and then cool to room temperature at any rate.
Solution treated and Precipitation hardened (Type C): Type B, then heat to 843 ± 14°C (1550 ± 25°F), hold at heat for 24 hours ± 15 minutes, and cool at any rate to room temperature.
